The Roundhouse

A Meeting Space Designed for Better Conversations

A defining feature of The Deerstone experience is the Roundhouse, a beautifully designed circular meeting and event space created to foster collaboration, openness, and fresh thinking.

The circular layout encourages collaboration, placing everyone on equal footing without a designated head of the table. In this inspiring setting, hierarchies dissolve, and creativity flourishes as each voice feels equally valued and heard.

Research shows that round spaces promote group cohesion and boost creative problem-solving, encouraging collaboration by creating a stronger sense of belonging among participants. When everyone can see each other easily and share equal space within the room, discussions become more open and ideas flow more naturally, making the Roundhouse the ideal setting for strategic planning, team building, and innovation.

Surrounded by natural light and views of the Wicklow landscape, the Roundhouse provides the perfect setting for leadership retreats, strategy sessions, innovation workshops and team gatherings.

The Barn

The Barn is the warm, rustic social heart of the property, a relaxed gathering place where teams naturally come together at the end of the day. With its cosy atmosphere, crackling fire, and informal setting, it’s the perfect space to unwind after a day of meetings.

To the front, a spacious outdoor area offers the ideal setting for enjoying sunnier days, while a fire pit to the side creates a natural spot for evening drinks, reflection, and relaxed conversation under the open sky.
Here, guests gather to share a drink, play music, enjoy board games, or simply sit and talk long into the evening. It’s often in these relaxed moments that teams reconnect most deeply and conversations continue well beyond the meeting room.

The Shed

Designed as the retreat’s shared dining space, The Shed provides a warm, considered setting for coming together throughout the stay.

Overlooking the landscapes of Wicklow National Park, The Shed is where guests are welcomed on arrival and where much of the retreat experience naturally unfolds.

Home to shared dining at The Deerstone, it features a cosy dining room, professional kitchen, and wood‑fired stove, creating an inviting setting for meals and informal gatherings. Large windows frame views of the surrounding countryside, while a seasonal outdoor terrace provides additional seating during warmer months. Seating up to 26 guests indoors, The Shed offers an intimate space where teams come together to share food, conversation, and ideas, with seasonal, produce‑led menus prepared by our experienced chefs.

Nourishing Food That Fuels Better Thinking

Food is a central part of the experience at The Deerstone

Our kitchen is guided by the rhythms of nature, with vibrant, seasonal dishes crafted to nourish both body and mind throughout your stay. Many of our ingredients are grown right here on the grounds or sourced from trusted local producers across Wicklow. Each menu is led by what the land is offering in that moment, allowing us to create produce driven meals that capture the essence of the season, fresh, honest, and deeply connected to place.

Meals are served in our cosy dining room ‘The Shed’, where conversations and connections are encouraged, from relaxed breakfasts to memorable long-table dinners in the evening.

For many guests, the food becomes one of the highlights of their retreat.

Sustainable Retreats with Purpose

Designed as a luxury eco retreat within the Wicklow landscape, The Deerstone blends thoughtful design, renewable energy, and regenerative practices to minimise environmental impact while creating an inspiring place for teams to gather.

From the way our buildings are powered and heated to the ingredients served at the table, every element of the retreat reflects a commitment to responsible hospitality and deep care for the surrounding environment. The Deerstone is crafted using natural materials, locally sourced furnishings, and carefully selected antiques and vintage pieces, choices that honour both sustainability and timeless design. The landscape and gardens follow the natural contours of the land, using what the site itself offers, allowing the retreat to feel woven into the environment rather than placed upon it. Across the property, all products are Irish-made and local where possible, with an emphasis on natural fibres such as cotton and linens.

Solar powered energy systems

that generate nearly three quarters of the site’s electricity, reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.

A1 BER rated accommodation

achieving the highest standard of building energy performance through efficient design and renewable technologies.

Energy efficient heat pumps

used throughout cottages and shepherd’s huts to provide heating and cooling while minimising carbon emissions.

A rewilding programme

that restores native plants and habitats, supporting birds, red squirrels, bees, and other pollinators across the landscape.

Locally sourced and homegrown produce

with an on site growing programme supplying seasonal ingredients to the kitchen.

Compostable waterless toilets

conserving water and eliminating the need for traditional wastewater systems.

Interior design rooted in natural materials

including locally crafted furniture, reclaimed pieces, antiques, and vintage finds selected for longevity and minimal environmental impact.

Garden and site design

shaped by the natural flow of the land, using native plants and materials to ensure the retreat blends harmoniously with its surroundings.

Use of Irish-made and natural products

across the property, prioritising local makers and sustainable textiles such as natural cotton and linen.

These initiatives work together to create a retreat experience where luxury, nature, and environmental responsibility exist in balance, offering a place that truly honours the land on which it stands.

For companies seeking venues aligned with their own sustainability values, The Deerstone offers a meaningful and forward-thinking choice.

Why bring your team to Ireland

Most offsites lose a day at each end. Ireland does not cost you one.

From London it is a 1 hour 10 minute flight. Your team leaves in the morning and is walking a valley by the afternoon. From the US east coast it is an overnight, landing at breakfast.

English is the working language. The euro is the currency. There is no visa for UK, US or EU passports, and no time zone to reconcile with head office.

Then, 60 minutes from Dublin Airport, there is nothing. No traffic, no notifications worth checking, no reason for anyone to slip back to their room and clear email.

Ireland, Greece or Italy

The three destinations UK companies compare most often. From London, Dublin is 1 hour 10 minutes, Rome 2 hours 30, Athens 3 hours 35.

All three are in the euro and need no visa. Only one of them works in English, sits in your own time zone, and gets your team there inside half a day.

Three nights in Ireland gives you three working days. Three nights in Greece gives you two, and one of them is jet-lagged.

For a US-led team the calculation is different but lands in the same place. Dublin is the shortest transatlantic hop into Europe, and you arrive somewhere nobody has to translate.

What you are booking

The Roundhouse. Circular, so nobody sits at the head of the table. Up to 50 for a session. This is where the day happens.

The Barn. The social room, with an outdoor fire pit lounge off it. Where the conversation carries on after the session ends, which is usually where the useful part is.

The Shed. Dining, seating 26.

Dingley Dell. Woodland, with the sauna, the cold plunges and the soak baths in it.

Six acres, exclusively yours. Twenty-two ensuite rooms across cottages, shepherd's huts and guestrooms.

The offsite your sustainability report can survive

Most corporate offsites are a problem for whoever writes the ESG section. This one is an answer.

Rewilding across the site: native trees, pollinators, red squirrels. Compost toilets that use no water where a standard flush uses six to nine litres. Solar generation. Heat pumps rather than gas. Food sourced locally and seasonally, not flown in.

Failte Ireland Quality Assured. Leave No Trace Ireland.

A short flight instead of a long one is the largest single lever on the carbon cost of an offsite, and it is the one nobody counts. Ireland is the shortest hop you can make and still have properly gone somewhere.

Who has already done this

Teams from global technology, professional services and legal firms have run their offsites here.

Getting your team here

Dublin Airport to our gate: about 60 minutes, no motorway drama.

Dublin is served direct from most UK cities and from the US east coast. We do not run transfers ourselves, but most groups bring one coach in on a single flight.

US pre-clearance is at Dublin, so your team clears US immigration before they fly home rather than queueing at the other end.

Two EV charging points on site. Wifi throughout, which works, because people do still need to file things.

Check in from 3pm. Out by 11am.
