Meditation Retreats in Ireland
Every venue says quiet. Here is what it actually means here.
Six acres, and while your group is on them, nobody else is. No other guests checking in, no function in the next room, no staff moving through. The whole site, or none of it.
You teach, or you are looking for somewhere to bring a group. Rates, capacities and dates.
What you can hear
Sheep farms on three sides and the Wicklow mountains behind. The Inchavore river runs past, which is the loudest thing here most days.
Laragh village is a few minutes' walk, which is close enough to matter if someone needs a chemist and far enough not to be heard.
The Roundhouse is circular, so a sitting group has no front and no back. Up to 50.
Silent retreats
Silence is easier to hold when the building is not working against it. Meals are served here, so a silent group is not negotiating with a kitchen or walking to a village to eat.
Twenty-two ensuite rooms. Nobody is sharing a bathroom or a corridor conversation.
Cold water, heat, and the rest of it
Sauna, cold plunge and soak baths, set in woodland rather than down a corridor.
Some teachers build these into the day and some leave them alone. Either works. They are there and they are yours.
Why Ireland
This is a country with a fourteen-hundred-year habit of people withdrawing to quiet valleys, and Glendalough is the valley they withdrew to. The monastic settlement at the lower lake is still standing.
It is also an hour and ten minutes from London and an overnight from the American east coast, with no visa and no language barrier. Easy to reach is not a small thing when you are asking people to give you a week.
When to come
The dark months suit this better than most formats. November to February: short days, long evenings, fires, and nowhere anyone wants to be but here. It also costs less.
May and September if you want the group outdoors between sittings.
If you are running it
You bring the group and the practice. We do everything else.
What you charge is yours. We take no commission on your tickets.

What exclusive use actually means
It is the whole site or none of it. There is no version where your group shares the place with a wedding party or a couple on a weekend break.
Six acres. Twenty-two rooms. One group. For a practice built on not being interrupted, that is the whole proposition, and it is the thing a hotel cannot sell you at any price.
Heat, cold water, and the rest of it
Sauna, cold plunges and soak baths, set in woodland rather than down a corridor.
Some teachers build them into the day and some leave them alone. Both work. They are there and they are yours for the week.
Why this valley
Glendalough is where people came to withdraw fourteen hundred years ago, and the monastic settlement at the lower lake is still standing. The habit is older than the marketing.
The Wicklow Way starts a few minutes from the gate. The upper lake is a walk, not a drive.
